40 Years a Professor

As I enter my 40th year teaching at Parsons School of Design in New York, I’ve been wondering how best to share the extraordinary work of my students from assignments I have developed to help them acquire the skills they need as artists and designers.

I’ve been archiving the strongest examples over the years. Each assignment has been honed carefully semester to semester, adjusting and refining to get the best outcomes. Those of you who teach art know how important it is to break each project down into achievable parts to fully accomplish an assignment’s goals.

I offer these as inspiration to those of you who will be teaching art in colleges and high schools. Feel free to use your own versions of them in your classrooms. I hope they will be helpful !
